Off to San Diego on Thursday

Well Dad has a cousin (George) that lives in SD and we wanted to go down there anyway. So we met up with his cousin and went out to lunch. George took us to lunch at a restaurant on the beach. We got a window view that looks out over the beach and ocean.

It had some great sea food. We then went out to a look out point that looked out over the city, it as a little hazy but was still neat. We were able to look down at the Submarine base, but there weren’t any subs docked there. We then went into the city and took a tour of the USS Midway. It is an Aircraft Carrier docked there. Across from were the Midway is docked there is Navy Base and the USS Nimitz and USS Ronald Regan were docked, also Aircraft Carriers. It was a neat tour they gave you a audio tour for free. You got to walk through the hanger, second deck and on the flight deck. You could also go through the bridge but we didn’t make it there.

After that we went back to George’s house and he cooked steak and potatoes for dinner. All around it was a good day and nice to meet family I had never met. George also said I have to come back down sometime and go sailing. He has to really twist my arm, let me tell you. And one neat thing is you can sail year round down here.
